You can contact a doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional online using a website called Accurx.

Urgent appointments

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday) during opening times:

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.

Routine appointments

The appointments telephone line is open from 8:30am. Wherever possible, you be offered an appointment with a GP within 48 hours or a healthcare professional within 24 hours.

  • We will ask you about the nature of the problem to ensure you are booked with the appropriate person for the appropriate length of time.
  • We will ask you who you would like to see, we may offer another doctor if your choice is unavailable.
  • We may offer an appointment with another healthcare professional.

If you would like to speak to a doctor or nurse, then the phone lines are open from 8:30am and the receptionist will arrange a time when the doctor or nurse can phone you back.

To request a routine appointment in advance during opening times:

  • phone us on Bottreaux Surgery 01840 250209 or Tintagel Medical Centre 01840 770214
  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) to book an appointment, screening test or vaccination

You can request a longer appointment if you feel you need more time, you can also request a phone call from the doctor.

Consulting hours

Bottreaux Surgery

  • Monday to Friday,  8:30am to 11:30am and 3:30pm to 5:30pm

Tintagel Medical Centre

  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30am to 10:30am and 3:50pm to 5:30pm
  • Wednesday and Friday, 8:30am to 11:30am and 3:50pm to 5:30pm

Extended hours

We also offer extended hours consultations after 6pm, Monday to Friday. Please ask reception about these extended hours.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

To cancel your appointment:

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

There are a few housebound patients who cannot get to the surgery and for whom we can offer home consultations.

However, visits are time consuming, preventing a doctor from being available for emergencies and the doctor may be unable to examine the patient properly at home.

Visits are difficult to fit in during a doctors busy working day so please, if you think a visit is necessary, phone as early as possible. A doctor will phone you back to discuss this.
